So another Christmas has come and gone. It was a great day with family at my daughter's home. She made a delicious tenderloin of beef with all the fixings. And we exchanged gifts. Now on to the end of 2019 and soon the beginning of 2020. A new decade. What will it bring. I am certainly looking forward to some positive changes. I hope to improve my photography . This year I did sell some of my photos for the first time. That was exciting and rewarding. I am not sure if I will do it again but who knows. Can't imagine what 2020 will bring. In some way it is just another day in paradise but I like to think of it as a new beginning. A chance to do some exciting new things and new adventures. What they will be will be determined. We all hope for something new when the New Year comes around. I ...

Sailing on Lake Clare farmhouses along the highways Just came back from a visit to my cousin Candida Simmons in Bay City Michigan. Visited the Taquemenon Falls. It was about a five hour drive but well worth the trip. They are a lot smaller than Niagra but still very pretty. On the return we stopped at a small town called St. Ignace which is an area where Fr. James Marquette of the Jesuit order taught an Indian tribe, The Chippewa and brought Catholicism to them and founded the St. Ignace Mission. And was buried there after his death. It was quite an interesting area. We visited the St. Ignace Mission building which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Another stop was Port Huron which is just on the other side of the Canadian Border. There was a beautiful lighthouse there . We could see the Canadian border on the other side of the Lake. More to come.....

Life moves on . The ospreys in Jamestown have given birth to two new osprey. While there is a third in the nest I believe that one of them is a stray bird that has joined the family as it appears it is also an adult bird. The mother appears to have been teaching them to fly so they would be ready to make their way out into the world. Isn't this something we all to do eventually with our own children. We have to give them the tools to leave the "nest" so they can"fly" on their own out into the world. Unlike the osprey we are hesitant to let our children leave the nest. We are afraid for them. We sometimes feel the tools that we have given them are not enough to show them the way. We are afraid to let them take the chance to spread their wings. The osprey knows that their offspring have to leave the nest and be on their way into their future to survive on not on their own. It's a huge world out there but some...

Wow what a great day today was. My grandson Shawn graduated from Norwich University in Vermont with his MBA and I was lucky enough to be able to be there to see him as he got his diploma. I was very proud to be there and congratulate him today. It was a good couple of days. Jackie, and I and Gabby Went to the Warren falls to view the waterfall in torrential rains. The trail was wet from heavy rain and we were probably foolish to be there but we stayed a safe distance away and got to enjoy the view of rushing water. I did managed to slip in the mud and fell on my butt but did not hurt myself thankfully. It was a long ride home today because of an accident and also heavy traffic. So when we got back to Newport we had dinner at the #FifthElement. Food was great. Now, glad to be home and relaxing.
Photography journey in progress. Like walking the Camino. It is a long road to travel

I haven't posted much on this blog for quite awhile and wasn't even sure if it was still active so I am just adding some stuff just to keep this going. I am still taking a lot of photos but not doing a lot with them. Always trying to find new places or things to take pictures of. There is plenty of stuff out there but sometimes it is hard to just focus . I am working on it. Today, a friend of mine and I went for a ride around the ocean drive in Newport and I did get to enjoy watching the surf go over the seawall so I did get a few pics of that. It was a pretty nice day after many days of gloomy days of rain. It was also nice to have a friend to share the day with . Most times I am out there alone. Some volunteers planted thousands of daffodils in the city and there has been a blaze of color in and around the city. Yellow has brightened up the grey days that we have had for the month of April. We need to en...
