Sailing on Lake Clare farmhouses along the highways Just came back from a visit to my cousin Candida Simmons in Bay City Michigan. Visited the Taquemenon Falls. It was about a five hour drive but well worth the trip. They are a lot smaller than Niagra but still very pretty. On the return we stopped at a small town called St. Ignace which is an area where Fr. James Marquette of the Jesuit order taught an Indian tribe, The Chippewa and brought Catholicism to them and founded the St. Ignace Mission. And was buried there after his death. It was quite an interesting area. We visited the St. Ignace Mission building which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Another stop was Port Huron which is just on the other side of the Canadian Border. There was a beautiful lighthouse there . We could see the Canadian border on the other side of the Lake.
