New Adventures of a Single Woman

Image
16 years ago I became a widow.   My husband of 36 years passed away very suddenly.  It took a long time to get back on my feet after the loss.   I soon learned , however,  that life goes on and I would have to rebuild my life as a single woman.  So after two months I went back to work as a nurse  and began my life alone.    It was challenging and discouraging at first as my world revolved around my husband and with out him it was as if the world had stopped.   Eventually,  I joined  a grief support group where I met a few new friends.  That morphed into monthly dinners with a small group of  like people also suffering through loss.  As time went on I met a few women who became my very  good friends and we started to  begin enjoying life again.   Our monthly grief group ,  now known as Marion's Angels for the woman who sets up our monthly meetings and keeps us posted on...

COLORS OF FALL

Image
Been all over checking out the foliage.   Rhode Island has been awash with color.  I took many pictures to be able to savor the beauty of fall when Old Man  winter shows a different kind of beauty.    So in the end there is beauty in everything.   The reds and yellows and oranges of the autumn season to the beautiful bright blue water and sky as well as the colorful flowers  of the summer.   Winter,  has a stark beauty.  The lines of the trees and branches,   the snow as it falls and covers the ground with its blanket of white.  And then Spring arrives and slowly the colors of life spring forth and we start by seeing daffodils and crocus and buds on the heretofor seemingly lifeless trees who are really just taking a rest to prepare themselves for the next season.  It is a time for us to rest too.
